Create a larger backyard room designed around the way you want to use it. The DuraMax 13' x 10' Garden Glass Room combines insulated steel construction, expansive tempered glass and wide double doors to create a bright, modern space for focused work, exercise, hobbies, plants, reading, entertaining or simply enjoying the backyard.
With a larger footprint than the 10' x 10' model, the 13' x 10' gives you extra room for a more substantial office setup, lounge arrangement, fitness equipment, worktables or mixed-use layout. The structural shell arrives as a complete panelized kit while leaving the finished floor, electrical, climate control, furnishings and décor up to you.
The larger footprint gives you added flexibility for desks, seating, exercise equipment, shelving, plants or creative work surfaces. Because the interior arrives without a fixed layout, you can finish and furnish the space around your own intended use.
Large 1/4" tempered-glass panels with powder-coated aluminum framing bring abundant natural light into the room. Two outward-swinging tempered-glass doors provide generous access for furniture and equipment and include a safety lock.
The wall system uses 25-gauge pre-painted galvanized steel panels with 1" polyurethane foam insulation, while the roof uses 25-gauge steel panels with 2" polyurethane foam insulation. The result is a substantial enclosed shell that can be finished further for your intended use.
A 4" steel foundation frame is included to provide the structural base for the building. Finished wood or other finished flooring is not included, allowing you to choose the surface that best suits your site and use.
The insulated roof is designed to direct rainwater toward the integrated gutter-and-downspout system. The structure is rated for a 25 PSF snow load.
The Garden Glass Room includes insulated steel wall and roof panels, the tempered-glass system and double entry doors, powder-coated aluminum glass framing, 4" steel foundation frame, gutter and downspouts, hardware and the pre-cut, pre-drilled components used for assembly.
Finished flooring, electrical service, HVAC equipment, interior finishes, furniture and décor are not included. Site preparation, anchoring, electrical work, climate-control installation and any required permits should be completed in accordance with local requirements and the intended use of the room.
Before installation, confirm that the prepared site, anchoring method and any planned electrical or climate-control work meet local requirements. Permit requirements vary by location and intended use.
It's nice pretty nice. I am having issues with the doors closing correctly. It's possible my crew made a mistake building it. Also I wish the interior was a little taller. I am 6'5" and there is only about a foot above my head. I need to install lighting and need to find lighting that is flush and doesn't hang down.
It's important to note that if you want electricity, that you have to cut a whole in the side. Lastly, it doesn't include flooring. I am happy with it, but I think it was a little too expensive.
I'm very happy with the 13x10 garden glass room. I've added solar, batteries and a mini split and the room ROCKS! But, in heavy rain the 2 windows leak. I've re-done the silicon but they still leak. Pretty sure I got 2 badly manufactured ones. Als, I've still been unable to get engineers drawings so I can get it permitted. But, we had a major hail storm that totaled 2 cars and broke windows on my house but the Garden Glass House survived intact with just minor dents.
My wife and I just finished building our 10x13 glass house. It mostly went well and the structure is well worth the money, but there is one big problem. Most counties require anything over 120 sq feet to be permitted. I went to get a permit and was told I needed stamped engineer drawings. With my existing wooden storage shed that was not a problem but when I called the seller they did not have any drawings, so I called the distributor, they didn't have them either, so I called the importer, they didn't have them. Then I emailed the manufacturer and never heard back. I tried to cancel the order and buy their 10x10 unit, but was told it was too late since it had already been shipped. So, I'm illegal. I don't know what I'll do if my county building department gets on my case. Anyway, the structure arrived in 2 crates. One was smashed up in transit. Fortunately none of the glass was broken. Some metal parts were banged up but nothing that prevented assembly. I'll attach a bunch of pictures. Building it went well. My wife and I did most of it. We needed a 3rd hand for putting up the walls . Once the walls and framing were complete the 2 of us put the roof panels on. That was dicey but we did it. One note, many, if not most, of the pre punched holes do not line up, but everything was square and level so we just drilled starter holes where needed. When it came time to put in the glass you install an exterior frame and then install the windows from the inside. I found out after the first glass wall, that installing the window pushed out the exterior frame, so have a 3rd person hold that. Also, the 2 rear windows just screw into styrofoam insulation. There should be something in the wall panel to accept the window screws. Basically, those 2 windows are held in by adhesive silicone grout. Lastly, when all was done it was time to install the french doors. They didn't line up. The entire structure was square and true but the doors were about 1/4" off, so I had to grind out the striker and drill new holes for the door stops. The french doors do not have adjustable hinges. They should. Overall we're very happy with this and think it's a good value, but the permitting issue is very problematic and the french doors should be redesigned with adjustable hinges. Enjoy the pictures
