Designed specifically for narrow side yards and spaces alongside a home, the DuraMax 4' x 8' SideMate combines a slim footprint with a low-profile lean-to design that fits comfortably into many residential side-yard corridors. At just 48.11 inches wide and approximately 73.78 inches tall, the SideMate was intentionally designed to stay near common 6-foot wall and fence heights, helping it sit more discreetly alongside a home and making it a practical choice for communities with tighter outdoor-structure height guidelines.
Despite its compact footprint, the SideMate provides approximately 154.3 cu. ft. of enclosed storage for bicycles, garden tools, lawn equipment, pool supplies, patio accessories, trash and recycling containers, and seasonal items. Its long 8-foot layout makes excellent use of otherwise underutilized side-yard space without requiring the depth of a traditional backyard shed.
One of the SideMate’s most useful features is its reversible side door. The approximately 29.76-inch-wide door can be installed on either side of the shed during assembly, allowing the entrance to be positioned for the best access based on your home, fence line, gate, or yard layout. Two vents can also be positioned on available wall panels to help promote airflow inside the shed.
Constructed from durable all-weather vinyl, the SideMate is designed for low-maintenance outdoor storage and does not require painting or routine treating. The vinyl panels are designed to resist rust, rot, dents, mildew, and fading, while metal-reinforced wall columns add structural strength and provide support for hanging shelves or garden tools inside. The included galvanized metal foundation framing kit helps establish a square, stable base and can be finished with plywood or concrete, sold separately.
